Podcasting Is So Yesterday. RIP JumpingOffRoofs Podcast
It looks like I am the progenitor of another failed project as I am officially call it quits on the JumpingOffRoofs podcast. The last podcast I was part of “The Failed Experiment” ended in an equally unspectacular fashion as I completely botched the code on the site and didn’t know how to make it all better, but it was on the way out creatively anyway. The Failed Experiment was conceived to be a fun a podcast where a few would get together, crack jokes and share funny stories with friends and JumpingOffRoofs was supposed to be a communal gathering with a rotating cast where in the best of scenarios I wouldn’t have to be present on every episode but that dream never came to fruition. So what happened? Well Like that last “P” on OPP, it not quite the simple.

Mass Effect as franchise is the best gaming experience I’ve ever had. I struggle to think of the time when the first Mass Effect hit shelves and I picked it up as a curiosity rather than the necessity it became. Today I sit contemplative on weather or not I need to ever play another video game as I live and breath.

Episode 28
So this podcast started out with the idea that Derek wanted to talk about the second Virginia Tech shooting except no one had really read up on it …including him. Gerald gives the hard sell for his brother’s book, Koontown Killing Kaper. The appeal of Childish Gambino and the merit of Lupe Fiasco which some how leads to talk of Alex Jones and the banks. Gerald has an angry rant about the n-word & race.
Episode 27
This week starts out slow with a little higher learning discussion (Penn State / Syracuse) and some how gets to the fashion of youngsters. Derrick counts town his top 5 white women and Gerald squirms when he gets the third degree.

Its a full house this week as Gerald, John, Dennis and Neno (Derek) all gather together in this episode of JumpingOffRoofs. On the table is the Penn State debacle (too soon?)

This week its all about New York Comic Con. We saw a lot of crap at the show including Bat Girl. Bat Girl was awesome.
Episode 24
This week Dennis goes home again, Gerald asks the only question that matters about Amanda Knox, there is a little on the Fall TV premieres, oh and Meth. There may be some references to Meth. Its a hell of a drug.
Episode 23
Back again. Fingers crossed we will get back to a regular schedule. Gerald here, and this week is a bit of a rambling fun and interesting mess. Not really sure what happened in the episode as I slowly lost my voice over the cast. I know at the end there I talked a bit about Mass Effect. The rest is a mixture of heated money debating, messing with the super religious, and some old school gaming systems. Listen. Enjoy.
My Top-Ten Must Watch Shows [Drama]
I have watched a good amount of television in my time on this earth and I feel that people have missed out on some truly great shows as they’re too set in their ways of the procedural cop drama, medical procedural, or lowest common denominator sitcom to step outside of their comfort zone. I thought I’d put together something for the masses to read and perhaps if I am lucky get someone out there who will look at what I put on this list and find a way to put it in front of there eyeballs and see if they like it. All I ask is that you give something out of your normal wheelhouse a try.
Episode 22
We are back! Full house on our first time back in a while with Gerald, Dennis, Derek and John. Oh this one goes all over the place starting with the end of an overly specific conversation about Rashida Jones. Also covered is the Save By The Bell parody video for Final Destination 5, Grand Theft Auto IV, Power Rangers and because of some people who can’t use their ears properly we end up talking about whore houses.

Episode 21
This week we basically go on about Transformers Dark of the Moon. Dispute the fact that we talk about the latest movie we try to keep it spoiler free, and we basically succeed. We even touch upon the original series a bit. And in true JumpingOffRoofs fashion we also a whole lot of crap.
Episode 20
In the first 5 minute we go from Dennis’ disinterest to the awkward relations of Bridget the Midget, Hayden Panettiere with her man friend (who is over 6 foot) and hoops Vs. Shaq and then into starfish digestion. How we get there is half the fun.
Episode 19
Well this week we had almost nothing to talk about but we soldiered on and talked about Green Lantern for what seemed like a time forever while not really saying to much about the movie (Slight Spoilers). We also debate the attractiveness of Blake Lively (she’s not, I win). The Maxim top 100 also become a bit of a topic in the second half of the cast. Between here and there I have no idea what happened, find out the hell went down.
Episode 18
E3 just happened last week and we talk all about video games. We cover the big three (Sony Microsoft & Nintendo) and there new systems the PS Vita and Wii U. After that time waster we move on to what really matters the games. Games like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Star Wars: The Old Republic, Prototype 2, Resistance 3 and Overstrike and many others get a mention but the real apples of our eyes are Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3. Have a listen to our less than professional opinions on gaming.

We are back…with a vengeance? This week along with our random conversation derivations we also talk about X-Men: First Class, the hopeful death of Law & Order: SVU, Some of the new shows hitting our screens this fall like, The River and Awake. We also say a bit about the upcoming 2011 E3.

This episode of the podcast is a trip, and not to be missed…or I’m just filling in words because I have no Idea what we talked about. No real news was uttered but there were jokes to be had and plenty of alcoholic beverages hath been consumed.
Episode 15
Join Gerald and Dennis as they talk about the FOX blood bath of canceled shows as well as the carcases left by the other networks and a few of the pickups for next season. Video games are covered this week in the form of discussions on Assassin’s Creed Revelations and Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. There is a bit of a spoiler for The Expendables 2, if you care which you shouldn’t. Most Importantly Gerald is basically obsessed with the awesomeness of the posterior of a girl at the annual Greek Festival.
Episode 14
Gerald and Dennis back in the place to be shotguning our humor and opinions at you with the fury of buckshot. This week we discuss our disappointment with this weeks South Park, our thoughts on the latest Marvel movie Thor. Take stock in the fact the TV pilots we find interesting for the upcoming season may not make the cut, falling to safer options. We also show complete indifference about the prospect of a new Nintendo console – Project Cafe, the announcement of a new Assassin’s Creed plus the delay of the final installment of the Mass Effect franchise.

This week hits with the fury of buckshot…well that’s not true but we do talk about the Mortal Kombat webisodes, The state of South Park as it starts its new season, The UK’s version of the Jersey Shore, called Geordie Shore. Oh and James Cameron’s Avatar was out done in Hong Kong by Porn.
Am I A Gamer?
I find myself asking…myself about my gamer status. I seem to get labeled a gamer a lot in my life, at work, amongst casual friends and even guy family but every time the label get slapped on me I immediately try to shake it off. Its not that I hate the term or the people it applies to, I just feel that I’m not one of them. To me being called a gamer is like going through life wearing someone else’s coat.
Episode 12
Your regularly scheduled programming will now continue. Last week there was no cast but this week I believe we make up for it with some hardcore Mass Effect 3. Before we do that we get into some news with the premire of the Mortal Kombat webisodes, a little Marvel – Heroes mash-up news. Also in this episode we talk about the needless remakes of the Crow and They Live. The last 20 min or so is all Mass Effect 3 with mild spoilers (and total spoilers for Mass Effect 2)
Episode 11
Another week, another episode. This week Torchwood & Doctor Who get new teaser trailers, Wonder Woman’s costume gets a redesign (for the better?), Kyle Chandler of Friday Night Lights, is in talks to star in FX’s POWERS. In bad news MTV is remaking the British hit series Inbetweeners, so that happened but you know what else is apparently happening? Well it looks like the Justice League of America movie is actually going to be made. We also get into a ridiculously nerdy conversation while talking about the casting of Leonard Nimoy as a voice in the terribly named Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Mass Effects last DLC is also discussed as it must be. Enjoy.
